TSO Jose Mourinho joined the League Managers Association’s Hall of Fame – and declared himself “proud” of the achievement.

The former Chelsea manager, now in charge of Real Madrid, was speaking as a guest of honour at the LMA’s annual Hall of Fame dinner at London’s Park Lane hotel.

On joining Sir Alex Ferguson, Sir Matt Busby, Bob Paisley and Arsene Wenger in the Hall of Fame, Mourinho said: “I am very proud of this because I am not British and I spent just over three years in the Barclays Premier League – which is not a significant time to create a big history.

“But the time I spent here was the best time of my career so far – and that’s despite winning the Champions League in Portugal and Italy.

“This is special for me as I get to see people I like very much and respect. I still have a home here and me and my family are still in love and will always be in love with this country. So to be back is almost to be at home.”

United boss Ferguson, now 69, said this week he has no intention of retiring and 47-year-old Mourinho is also hoping for a long career in management.

He explained: “I hope he continues for years and I get to face him a few more times.

“When I am in my 50s or 60s, I also see myself still in football with the same ambitions and desires. So I understand why he wants to continue. It was the same with Bobby Robson. I see myself continuing for many years.”

On his own career Mourinho said: “In the beginning I had the pressure because I went into management after not being a top player, so I had a lot of things to prove.

“After Porto the pressure was the question ‘can he achieve abroad?” Everything then went well in England. Italy is the home of tactics, so the question then was ‘is he a good leader and a good tactician, can he compete in this world of football?’ Yes I could.

“Now I go to Spain and everybody says ‘Real Madrid is an incredible club, a club different to any other club – can he cope with it?’ So I am trying to prove that I can and step by step, stage by stage with this new challenge it motivates me more and more.”

The event also focused on the FA Cup and LMA chief executive Richard Bevan added: “This event was unique, bringing together football managers past and present, celebrating their achievements in one of the game’s most famous cup competitions…and Jose Mourinho added to a truly memorable evening.”

Among the many others in the 1,500-strong crowd wearing the designer’s clothes, Naomi Campbell and Daphne Guinness (pictured) were especially striking.

I love the clothes.. the fabrics are just out of the world.  The Standalone store at Oberoi Mall (Goregaon, Mumbai) is so much better than the cut-ins in other stores.. read Shoppers Stop and Lifestyle. The collections are so much more elaborate. And don’t forget the accessories. You will be surprised how inexpensive they are.

To the intelligent mind, the movie is outrageously stupid. Its about a super corrupt cop in a semi-rural town of India. His oh-so-obvious difficult relationshiop with the step-pop and step-bro and also his super simplified love story. We have seen all this a million times over since the 1970′s. But but but, its obviously differnt when a 40+ Salmaan Khan is making a comeback (come on, he has not made a movie since Wanted… Veer is not counted.. I am sure even he does not acknowledge it!) 

The dialogues, the rants and even the dances had me in splits. I cannot find a word / phrase to explain how hilarious the movie is. I can not imagine another actor who could have pulled out a Chulbul Pandey. You empathise with the guy in the first 5 mins of the movie and then right till the end he has you by his side. He pulls up all the stunts – stunts you have seen in Hollywood movies like The Matrix, Transporter 1,2 and 3 and even some local Rajnikant style stunts and delivers dialogues full with wit.

 There were ample of good performances too (surprisingly). Arbaaz Khan has done his best as Makhhi, Mahesh Manjrekar was superb as a drunkard. Om Puri and Anupam Kher were wasted. Sonu Sood came up with a body that was worthy of bein in front of that of Salmaan.  Sonakshi Sinha should be proud of her debut. She is a beautiful girl.

But the highlight of the movie – the singular moment when I yelped out of my seat was when Salmaan’s shirt takes it upon himself to split and fly out, to reveal the one thing I wanted to see during the course of the whole movie – Salmaan Khan’s shirtless torso.

It looks very very interesting with Cruella de Vil, Snow White’s Evil Queen, Sleeping Beauty’s Maleficent and Princess and the Frog’s DR. Facilier teamed up for a nasty looking, utterly tempting makeup collection you’d want to have in your beauty case this winter.
